We have an opportunity for a full-time, on-site Permit Coordinator in our Cleveland, Ohio office.
As part of the Permits Team in our Operations Department, you will work directly with our truck drivers and terminal network to research, quote pricing for, and order oversize/overweight/over-dimensional permits for transporting various types of material across the country.
You will confirm the legal specifications, routes, and special instructions for various permits and communicate these details to our drivers and terminals. To accomplish this, you must pay meticulous attention to detail, have the ability to quickly and effectively multi-task, and work closely with your team members to provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities of the Position:
- Researching and quoting pricing for special permits
- Ordering oversize/overweight/over-dimensional permits
- Mapping routes and assisting drivers with route planning, detours, etc. using online tools and computer applications
- Learning and applying state laws and other regulations/permitting requirements
- Regularly communicating with state government offices
- Working with terminals to resolve billing issues
- Continuously communicating with truck drivers and terminals, responding to issues in a timely manner and providing information about other available services and programs as appropriate
Qualifications & Interpersonal Skills:
- Transportation/trucking industry knowledge preferred but not required
- Knowledge of U.S. geography a plus
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks at one time
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to tone in phone and email correspondence
- Ability to interact with a variety of people, including truck drivers, terminals/agents, vendors/customers, co-workers, and internal departments
- Team-oriented
Benefits:
- Starting Hours / Schedule: 8:00AM to 4:30PM with a 1-hour lunch, based in our Corporate Office in Valley View, Ohio
- Hours / Schedule After Initial Training: Permits Team members rotate/stagger shifts between 7:30AM to 5:30PM, all shifts with a 1-hour lunch, based in our Corporate Office in Valley View, Ohio. When working the latest shift in the rotation, those team members also monitor after-hours correspondence (mainly email).

Physical Demands of the Position:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and reach with hands and arms to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
